Goodbye Summer Break and Hello Back To School!

For the boy's last summer break weekend we filled it with tons of swimming, BBQ for dinner, and S'mores for dessert! It's hard to believe they are back in school already. We do love having year round school...just about the time they start to get bored it's time for school to start again and then they get 3 weeks off in the Fall when the weather is much cooler and we can vacation when all the hot spots are much less crowded. Plus, they get 2 weeks off at Christmas as well as a 2 week Spring Break! Not a bad deal if you ask me! =)

After swimming lessons this summer, Carson can now swim w/o a life jacket! Yippeee!

They love to jump of the bench at the end of the pool.

Such a ham!

London tried out his new floatie for the first time.

We have a ledge on one side of the pool that is shallow enough for London to splash around on...he loves it!

Time to relax!

Cooking some marshmallows for s'mores...it was a little hot since it was still in the 90's outside!

Yummy!

The boys spotted this heart shaped cloud in the sky! Kinda cool!

We love our sunset view from the backyard!

Our Summer Vacation

For our vacation this summer we took off on a bit of a road trip. We made a pit stop in Vegas and then headed to the cabin in Utah for our family reunion. It was a wonderful relaxing week and a nice break from the AZ heat! Afterwards we spent a few days in Vegas before heading back home. The best part of the drive was seeing Hoover Dam again...the new bridge is AMAZING...it will be so nice when the construction is complete! The worst part of the drive was London's diarrhea blowout and having to pull over in a vacant parking lot to clean up massive amounts of poo with only baby wipes in 110 heat! Traveling with kids is never boring at least! ;)

Getting ready to head out on our family hike!

The scenery is so beautiful up there...and yes...hiking at an elevation of 10,000 ft. with a kid strapped to your back is not as easy as it looks!

That is why you see Weston with a kid strapped to his back in most of the photos! ;)

We stumbled upon some snow...in July!

Snowball fight!

The girls left all the kids with the boys and headed into town to see Eclipse...Weston was relieved he will not have to go see it with me! ;)

London and Ethan...Ethan loves to pull London's hair and London loves to poke Ethan's eye...yeah they are most definitely BFF's! ;)

Most evenings were spent around the campfire where Grandma sang songs with the kids and Grandad shared stories from his youth...we were impressed he could remember back that far! ;) All joking aside, Weston's dad's recovery has been nothing short of a miracle. Not too many people have suffered a brain anuerysm of his size and not only lived to tell about it, but continue to live a normal life! Heavenly father has certainly blessed our family so that we can enjoy Grandad's company for many years to come!

We headed back to Vegas on the 4th of July. On the way we stopped at Cedar Breaks for some photos. Weston and I have taken photos here every summer we've made it to the cabin. The 1st one was taken when we were 17! That evening Weston did fireworks in the street with the kids and the neighborhood put on an incredible show! After we put the kids to bed, Weston and I along with 2 of his brothers and their wives, relaxed in the hot tub while the fireworks exploded right above our heads! It was an amazing sight!

For our anniversary Weston's parent's treated us to front row seats at Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian! Have I mentioned how awesome my in-laws are?

Outside the Venetian.

Waterfalls outside The Wynn.

Beautiful lobby inside The Wynn.

Of course we had to take the boys to see Toy Story 3 while we were there...it was Awesome!

We can't wait till next time!
