Weston's Idea of a Fair

Last weekend was our county fair and silly me, I thought it might be a fun thing to do. Then my husband reminded me that he doesn't do fairs. Why you ask? Who knows... maybe it's the toothless carnies, the smell of horse poop, or the crowds of people who sometimes may be less than friendly. I however, feel all of these things are totally worth it, for the taste of GREASY fair food! The funny thing about this, is Weston grew up in a small hick town and went to a high school that was mostly kids of farmers and ranchers. I'm quite sure he was the only one who wore nice button up shirts to school! To those of you that know Weston it probably wouldn't surprise you he got voted "Best Dressed." So Weston not wanting the kids to be too disappointed suggested we go to the Mall of America instead where as he put it..."there are fun rides with no scuzzy carnies and a much better selection in food." So of course we had a great time and I really can't complain too much because I'm a HAPPY girl whenever I have a chance to go shopping!

The boys love this ride....you basically just ride through a haunted house
and rack up points for all the ghosts you shoot. Must be a boy thing!

This ride is always a favorite...it takes you up high and you
bounce as you go down.

They remodeled the theme park and gave it a Nickelodeon theme.
So of course we had to get a picture with Pablo....their favorite Backyardigan.

Carson fell asleep on the way home checking out his new
Batman Legos. We can never go to MOA without hitting up
Legoland. I'm not sure if it's the boys or Weston who have more fun there!

Finally they picked out new costumes at Build-A-Bear.
Logan wanted spiderman so of course Carson followed suit.
He is full blown into the copy cat stage...luckily Logan doesn't seem
to mind too much...yet!

Pool Party!

On Friday we had our 1st summer day that made it into the 90's, so what better way to cool off than hanging out at the pool right? 'We had a great time, but after we had been there a few hours the tornado sirens start blaring! So I'm looking around a bit concerned because we were expecting severe weather later in the day. As I'm doing this I notice not a single person seems concerned at all...they aren't even breaking their conversation! Only in Minnesota! :) We tend to have a few warnings a week and I guess I'm just not as "desensitized" as everyone else. All was fine in the end as it turns out they were just "testing" the sirens. Who tests the sirens on a day you're expecting severe weather?

My little daredevil Carson jumping to Mallory!

Someday Miranda is going to make an excellent swim instructor!

I may be biased, but he's a pretty darn cute kid right?

The "3 Amigos" Jack, Logan, and Carson

I'm not quite sure what Logan is doing with his face here..
maybe he's just over excited about the big slide we just came down?

Carson loved the "toot" slide...as he called it!

Happy 4th of July!

This year for the 4th of July we spent most of the day at the lake with a group of friends. We went tubing, swimming, played on the beach, and of course ate a ton of yummy food! We ended the day watching the big fireworks show! It was such a fun day!

Carson having a rare quiet...reflective moment!

Logan and his friend Jack building sand castles with dad.

They finished the moat and were having way to much fun filling it up and playing in the water to bother with finishing the actual castle!

Fun at the zoo!

Some friends of ours scored free tickets to the Minnesota Zoo and invited us along! It had been a few years since we had been to this particular zoo and we had so much fun! Weston and I have always loved the zoo and visiting with our kids is always such a treat! They both love animals and Carson said his favorite part was the dolphin show and Logan loved the Grizzly Bear!

Logan, Katie, and Carson checking out the grizzly bear. Carson was not going to take his eyes off the bear to take a picture. I don't think he trusted the glass window!:)

The boys checking out the sharks in the aquarium.

All the kids in the butterfly house. It was so cool....there were butterflies flying everywhere even landing in your hair!

Logan posing by the tropical aquarium.

Crawling through one of the many tunnels!

Daddy and Carson checking out the monkeys!
