Santa and Gingerbread houses

It wouldn’t be Christmas without  a few traditions. London had fun seeing Santa at his school Christmas party and all the boys did a great job on our gingerbread house this year!

Logan turns 12!

Logan’s birthday fell on the last day of school before Christmas break. All the boys had a half day and there was a lot of excitement in the house! We had cupcakes and our traditional birthday pancakes for breakfast. It’s a good thing birthdays are only once a year! Logan has been wanting a new iPod since his old one was cracked and had hardly any memory. We told him we would get him one if he would pay for half. He was happy with that deal. He also got a new warm sweatshirt and a book he’s been wanting to read. This year was simple…a want, a need, and something to read.

I picked up Logan and some friends after school and we headed to In-N-Out for lunch and then it was off to the fancy theater for the new Night at the Museum movie. These boys were quite spoiled there, and I’m not sure they will ever want to go to the “regular” theater again. Ha!

Zoo Lights

What a gorgeous night to go see the zoo lights! This is one of my favorite Christmas traditions. Beautiful lights, music, hot chocolate, and churros are a great combination!

Of course we had to end the night with a ride on the zoo train!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We are so used to celebrating Thanksgiving with all of the Stewart’s, so this year was quite the change. It was fun celebrating with just our little family and I felt like we really got to spend quality time with our boys, since they weren’t off running with their cousins, but we definitely missed the feel of a big family Thanksgiving. Hopefully our boys still had a fun day. We started off with pumpkin pancakes and the Macy’s parade. It’s been a long time since I’ve done a Thanksgiving meal by myself and I think I would have made Sandy proud. Before we ate we went around the table and had everyone share what they were thankful for. I was pretty impressed that both Logan and Carson included the Gospel of Jesus Christ with their blessings. I’m so thankful that they have an understanding of how important it is. Dinner was great and we have enough left overs for a week, so I guess I get some time off! Ha! We had our dinner about mid afternoon, so there was plenty of time for a family MarioKart tournament after we ate.  Then it was time for dessert of  course! I am truly blessed and so thankful for this little family of mine!

Family Pictures 2014

It was pretty wild trying to get these 4 boys to pose for pictures, but we got it done in between rock climbing and exploring. I can hardly believe how grown up they are!

Our photographer had to take several pictures of Greyson to get some of him smiling and looking at the camera. I’m having a hard time choosing my favorite!
