Zions National Park

After we left the cabin we stopped at Zions National Park. It had been several years since we had been there and you forget how truly breathtaking it is. The boys also loved seeing an IMAX movie all about the history of Zions. What a beautiful state Utah is!

The cabin in the Fall

There is nothing quite like the cabin during the Fall. The weather is perfect. Cold enough for sweaters, boots, and hot chocolate in the mornings, yet warm enough to be outside and not want to come back in. We only had a few days there with Weston’s parents and Aunt Lorna and we made the most of them. We went on a few hikes and were reminded why Fall is so beautiful, and will always be my favorite season. The trees are what I miss most about Minnesota (2nd only to our friends.) The boys got some one on one with their dad playing Risk and learning the finer points of driving a 4-wheeler. I loved that they are old enough now to take off and explore and play on the fort without me right on their heels. It’s pretty much like having the most awesome backyard ever!

Apple Annie’s Orchard

What better way to kick off my favorite season than with a trip to the apple orchard? London’s preschool class went on a fieldtrip and Greyson and I tagged along. The kids learned all about the different apples and how they take care of them. After the lesson we went on a tractor ride out to the orchard to pick apples right off the tree. London said an apple had never tasted so good. After we filled our bags we had lunch at some picnic tables right in the middle of the apple trees. Of course we had to stop for some delicious baked goods on our way out! Welcome Fall!
